Self Defense Baton Holsters and Accessories
While expandable batons come with nylon holsters included, you may want a more durable holster for daily wear.
If so, you'll want to choose one of our leather baton carriers. We have two designs-the open top expandable baton carrier, and the snapover baton carrier. The open top makes it easier to access your baton: just pull it from the holster. The snapover features a flap design, which may be more useful in situations where you want to keep your baton held tight until you're ready to use it.
You should bear in mind that covers serve another use: they can be used as a way of intimidating less aggressive criminals. Oftentimes, all it takes is the unsnapping of the baton holster to ratchet up level of anxiety in an opponent's mind, without actually having to escalate the situation into an actual physical confrontation.
Another way of saying this is that while batons are a very effective physical answer to an assault, they are also a psychological deterrent. Criminals who believe that a potential victim has a means of self defense tend to seek other, less well equipped and easier targets.
Both holsters have a hole in the bottom so the baton can be holstered while in its expanded length. You can buy carriers for any size of expandable baton, and you can choose between a smooth and basket weave design. Both have advantages, depending on the intended situations you think you will need to use it. The basket weave provides extra gripping surface in wet conditions, whereas the smooth leather lessens bulk and the obviousness that you are carrying one.
